Limn Gallery presents 'SKETCH' - Live Art and Doodling', sponsored by Urbanaut and BurgerFuel.

Limn Gallery presents SKETCH. Join us for a night of live art and doodling on the 23rd September at 119 Ponsonby Road. Grab a seat and doodle, sip, snack and network with some of our guest artists. This is a free event. SKETCH kicks off from 6.30pm on Friday the 23rd of September, and will feature some awesome guest artists including Berst, Jimi Grins, Finn Gerry Wilson, Enox, Diko and more. You don’t have to be an artist to come or doodle; just a lover of art and all things creative. This event has been a long time coming, so come along and enjoy!

About the Artist: Berst

Dr. Bobby ‘Berst’ Hung was born in Hong Kong and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. He is a graffiti writer, illustrator, visual arts educator, researcher, and videographer. Berst began painting graffiti in the early 2000s until the present and his interest in graffiti centres primarily around the exploration of lettering, colour, typography, and abstraction. Over the past couple of years, he has shifted his focus to documenting Aotearoa graffiti through the Real Time Web Series (online video podcast) and Fresh Press Magazine (international graffiti publication).

About the Artist: Berst

Jimi Grins is an Auckland based pop artist and designer that has collaborated with creatives from all around the world, working in illustrative, product and character design and in hand paintings. Grins has worked for Portugal based NFT company Rare Gotchi and has also produced product artwork for craft beer company Garage Project here in New Zealand. Grin’s work is heavily influenced through cartoons and graffiti, forming a collage-like blend of twisted characters and colors for the world to enjoy.

Enox is a Hamilton-based digital artist and designer who enjoys working with businesses and individuals all around the world, creating custom illustrative characters for brands for use on products, boards, murals, vehicles and more. Enox has worked and collaborated with brands such as Adobe, Speedo, HardTuned and HJC Helmets. Together with his wife Lino, they work on custom canvas paintings from time to time also. Enox’s work is influenced by graffiti art, 80’s pop culture and Japanese kawaii characters, in the hope of spreading positive vibes & inspiring others.

About the Artist: Diko

Diko (Gabriel Tiongson) was born in the 80s in Iloilo City, Philippines. His interests ran the gamut of video games, popular cartoons, and Western pop culture. His early work of free-hand, black and white illustrations expanded to include the use of fluorescent technicolour, slapstick, off-kilter character proportions, and distorted references to human anatomy. Tiongson completed his Visual Arts degree and Masters in Creative Practice, and now his works are charged by his childhood affinities and presented through his experience of various cultures.
