Jeremy McCormick

Jeremy McCormick

Jeremy McCormick is a New Zealand artist whose work explores the relationship between nature and the built world. Much of his inspiration comes from his vivid dreams, where wildlife and human environments collide in unexpected ways. His paintings combine large-scale landscapes, bold animal forms and city scenes, with vivid graffiti and human expression woven throughout.

Nature sits at the core of his practice, set against the ever-expanding concrete jungle of modern civilisation. Animals emerge as powerful protagonists within his compositions, reclaiming space, challenging dominance, and questioning humanity’s role within the ecosystem. These imagined worlds unfold like visual puzzles, inviting viewers to look closer, reflect longer, and consider where our relationship with the natural world is heading.

McCormick’s style blends detailed realism with imaginative, dream-like elements. Each piece tells a story, encouraging viewers to slow down, look closely, and form their own interpretation. His work asks simple but important questions about balance, impact, and where we are headed. Jeremy McCormick’s work is held in private collections throughout New Zealand.
