This open edition sculpture / collectible vinyl toy by KAWS (Brian Donnelly) titled 'Small Lie' was released in 2017 and comes in Grey, brown, and black editions.
Among KAWS’s signature “Companion,” Small Lie has the most childlike charm. Unique from the Open Edition Companions, this figure included overalls on the character and did not come in flayed versions. The Pinocchio-inspired figure bows its head in shame as if hiding from a parent after getting in trouble. KAWS debuted the character at Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 2016, presenting a 30-foot-tall version made of African hardwood. The following year, KAWS released 11-inch grey, brown, and black editions of the figure, produced in collaboration with Medicom Toy.
